Nobody Told You

Nobody told

you to put yourself

on a shelf

You will laugh

You will smile

Nobody told

you that you didn’t

have potential

You will achieve

You will accomplish

Nobody told

you that you will

be lonely forever

You will find him

You will see him

Nobody told you

that was going to

be easy

  1. Beautifully expressed. The picture is also lovely and combines perfectly with your powerful piece. I think these lines are key to understand human life:

    “Nobody told

    you that you will

    be lonely forever”

We might be surrounded by people where some might listen to us not like the anonymous people in the picture above; we might have friends, acquaitances or relatives accompanying us in good and bad times and we might even be able to fulfill a love relationship in the best case(s). The voice of your poem seems to want that perhaps. That person “can find” and “see him”. Nobody tells us how to walk in life. There is no manual of instructions. Each one of us walks alone in life. I think to understand this is to comprehend human existence. In this respect, your poem is deeply philosophical under apparent simplicity. It still resonates with me. Loved it!
